Im 17 years living in the northwest suburbs of chicago. I've eaten terrible my whole life, once i hit 300 i realized things needed to change. My hobbies are playing drums, playing hockey and going swimming. My father had success on atkins for awhile, gained it back tho, but im not going to allow that to happen.

Good luck! Is your father going to be doing Atkins with you? I would love to get my two teens on it but they are such picky eaters, I am not prepared to deal with them yet. lol

Look forward to hearing how you progress..you can do it!

welcome to ADBB -- I hope you have a copy of the book and will read it and follow the plan the way it is meant to be followed. There is another plan written by a doctor that worked with Dr Atkins in New York - the plan is written for teens because of the different nutritional needs from adults. The book is called Feed Your Kids Well: How to Help Your Child Lose Weight and Get Healthy by Dr. Fred Pescatore. Amazon.com: Used and New: Feed Your Kids Well: How to Help Your Child Lose Weight and Get Healthy

Unlike what some people thing Atkins is not a meat and cheese only diet. It is a high fat/low carb way of eating. We eat 20 net carbs of veggies and other foods daily - the vegetables are veyr important to get in each day.

Make sure you are eating only items listed on the acceptable foods list, drink at least 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added) and start exercising as soon as possible. Check the book for supplements you will need.

          Good luck to you

          Good luck to you.
          Carole
