  • Hi from Scotland!

Hi I'm Karina, 35 year old married stay-at-home-mum of 2 little boys.

I have tried Atkins twice before, but only got to about day 3! Mainly due to the fact that I had been on/off vegetarian for 20 years and more recently raw vegan - so I could never do more than a few days of meat (I tried vegie low-carb too). A funny thing happened to me recently which changed all that - I found God - go figure!!! Never in my life would I have dreamed something like that would happen to me but it did and I decided I would turn my eating over to Him and not decide for myself what was good or bad for me - after all I'd been trying that for 20 years and it wasn't working so well! I'm sure he'd been trying to tell me for many years to do this because I was plagued with illness, hypoglycemia, PCOS - and just a few weeks into eating healthy fats and meat I feel soooo much better its quite unbelievable!

Another mistake I made before was not eating enough fat and eating too much protein - what a difference that little tweak makes!

Anyway sorry for rambling on - I'm just so glad to be here and I look forward to getting stuck into the boards!

    Karina

    Hi Karina:

Welcome. Consider eating fish and eggs if you're not into meat.

Welcome Karina -- I wish you much luck on your journey.

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
          Filtered water
          Mineral water
          Spring water
          Tap water

Here are links that will help get you started. Make sure you are eating induction recipes only until you are ready to move onto OWL.
Exercise is not an option – it is mandatory ….. don’t say you can’t find a way and start today! Atkins bars and shakes are NOT acceptable during induction – they are made with non-induction ingredients and cause stalling in many people. Just remember - if it’s not on the acceptable food list – it doesn’t go in your mouth!
