    Re: hi

hi and welcome -- if you are already planning to cheat why not wait until you get back from vacation. OR you can start now and by the time you go on vacation you may feel much differently and not WANT to cheat. It seems a shame to start something you aren't going to commit to 100%.

Check out the Century Club -- it's a group of people who have 100 or more pounds to loose.

    Good luck
    Carole

      Re: hi

I agree with Carole. It is the "I'm on vacation" mentality that got most of us this big in the first place. After vacation, it will be a wedding, or a party, or a big charity event. There will always be something. Unless you commit 100% it will be tough to lose the weight and impossible to keep it off. Think about it-- you can have a big breakfast every day, eat all kinds of meat, cheese, seafood, and terrific salads. Will you really be missing that much? Or would you rather be thinner, healthier and look better in that swimsuit?

        Welcome!
Why not give it a try... vacation and all? I mean, start and then go on vacation and really try not to fall off the wagon. Just think how amazing and proud you'd feel when you get back... not to mention how much slimmer!

          Re: hi

Seriously I am going to Paris the land of bread , cheese , chocolate and wine. So I have to say that knowing myself as I do , there is no way I am not going to be eating bread , cheese , chocolate , and drinking the wine .
I have been fat for about twenty years so A couple more weeks of bad eating choices is not going to kill me. I hope.
I also think that changing bad habits for me is a head game . For instance , I have known all my adult life that smoking is bad, still I smoked , Up until the time I made up my mind to quit. I picked a stop date (my 48th birthday ) and I quit. No patches , no pills , I just told myself on your birthday you will be a non smoker , and on that day I quit . Not that i didn't crave em I did . I just kept telling myself after three days the nicotine is out of your system physiologically , and after that it is all in your head . Non smoker for 1.5 years now.
That is how I am envisioning changing my body forever with atkins . I am picking a date , July 19 th and that will be my new beginning with food . From what I am reading after induction when I get all the sugar and crap out of my diet , I should start to feel better/and hopefully after that I will follow in your foot steps to feeling better , losing weight and being more healthy.vive la france ;I mean vive la atkins !
