    Hello Brothers and Sisters. I had great success with the Atkins diet before It regained its popularity. in 1996 I used it to drop 100 lbs in 6 months.

    I do a lot of weight lifting so the high protein is important to me. Now I powerlift and strongman.

    Either way I am 6'5 and back up to 270 lbs. Weight does not bother me but the pants size does. 42's are not easy to find unless you are 5 foot tall. a 42 by 36 is impossible to find.

    Anyway I am 2 days back in. Today. I am shocked I am not shoing ketones as I used Insulin to drop in faster.

    Anyway. Glad to be here and find answers to my many questions.

    Need to drop back down to fighting weight at 230 wish me luck.

    Good luck to you.You seem like an active person just stick to the diet and you should be at 230 in no time.Wish you luck.

        Welcome Lurch. Saw your posts in the forum. I am excited to see how things go.
        What do you mean by you used insulin to drop in faster? You lost me on that one.

          Me too. The low sugar in the WOE is all the sugar leveling you need. I suggest letting your body do its job. "Helping" it along will not allow it to stabilize and readjust your natural insulin response. I wouldn't worry about the ketostix. If you are doing Induction properly, according to the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book, then you will be in ketosis. Better to go by biological signs--stinky breath and urine, high energy, and no excessive cravings.

            This is not something for most people to do, as most people think more equals better and they will kill themselves.

            But small controlled amounts of Humulin R Insulin will burn out all of your carbs in your body and have you in a ketogenic state in under 24 hours.

              Thanks Chinadoll, I figured out why i am not showing Ketones in my urine and that is due to the fact that I am burning them all for energy. You only pee out those that you can not burn. I do appreciate the advice. The ketosticks are like the scale and that is an enemy i belive. All the matters is the body fat percentage.
