  • Fair, Fat`and Fourty

Hello everyone......Newbie to this site.....did Atkins 8 years ago when was nursing in UK....got on very well with it but as usual life goes on....and at moment living in rural Spain with husband....he retired from police and I left NHs having been (sucessfully... fingers crossed)treated for breast cancer.( had the full works)..makes you re think what is important in life and we moved here. Life amongst the goats, olive groves and the spanish madres y padres tends to be very laid back ...manana manana and hey ho....tomorrow it will be sunny!!!..I will not say i hate my body because it is a healthy body....but i want to feel different about it ....I dont just want to do the 'cancer free' so i can be a bit overweight.......I want to feel good about my body..full stop
.OK ...thats all from me at this moment.....

I am jealous of your location. I loved Spain when I visited although I know from my own experience that the tourist life is very different from the reality of a place day in and day out. I am sending best wishes that the cancer is gone forever. My mom has had multiple rounds of breast cancer and she is still hanging in there (and doing well) at 81, but it is a scary battle each time.

I think you have a great attitude and know that if you commit to this Way of Eating and use the support of the board, you will see significant changes in a short time. Welcome.

welcome -- from one survivor to another (not breast cancer but twice survivor of cancer). Bravo to you for getting through it. If you can go through that Atkins should be a breeze for you!

Make sure you drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily, eat only things off the acceptable food list and exercise. Make sure you take supplements to help keep yourself healthy.

Good luck to you -- if you need anything we're here for you.
