  • Trying with bhrts and peri-menopause

My first time on Atkins I followed it to the letter and exercised 6 days a week. I went from a size 12 to a size 4. I've tried aktins a few more times after that but soon learned that peri menopause and low blood sugar was effecting my abliblity to loose weight. The reason I stopped akins in the first place was beause I had gotten too small. Yes, I was only 105 lbs so I started eating more and then went to massage school, started a business and had no time for exericise. I gained the weight, went into severe peri menopause and now after all this, I'm on bhrt and trying atkins again. Someone please tell me, if I stick to the plan with my bhrt, will I be able to loose the weight and keep it off? Thanks!

Re: 4th time trying Atkins again-hope to do things differently!

I don't think I've read of anyone who is back to Atkins who looses as much or as easily as the 1st time. If it's worth it you'll stick with it and loose the weight. It didn't come on overnight so why would it come off that way? Good luck to you.

Things will undoubtedly have changed. So don't expect the same speed. But I am peri as well and have lost just fine.
If you want to maintain you will have to move to OWL add more carbs and different foods and slowly learn how to deal with more carbs and more food groups.

I think it will go fine

Hi Liv, nice to meet you. Where do I participate on the challenges? I see you've done quite a few and maybe it will help me feel better. I notice that the mornings are groggy and fatiqued but the afternoons I seemed to be a little more focused and have normal energy. Is that normal? If so, how long before I can wake up feeling refreshed?

Welcome Bisou, Like Liv, I am also perimenopausal. I had a year when I couldn't lose an ounce but now things have settled down and I am losing again. I am not on brht though so I can't help you there.
