  • Introducing my self

This is probably my third serious go round with the atkins diet. I pursued it slightly in the 70s and did pretty well.
I got lazy and content to live overweight for many years before I finally dove into this wholeheartedly around 2001. I lost over 75 lbs and was at a great weight for my 5'5" frame at 145.

Slowly stress and medical problem caused the weight to creep back on. I am now 200 lb and I am sick of looking and feel like this. My heartburn and reflux seem to be helped with a low carb diet. I just hope I can see this to fruition.

My 54 birthday is coming up and we have a Disney World trip coming up next March and I could use the motivation

Wish me luck and the same to all strugling.

    Re: Introducing my self

Hi Carol, welcome to ADBB. This board uses the 2002 version of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. Its a bit different from the earlier form of Atkins you used, so it is best to get a copy and read up on the changes. If you don't have one at present, go to the Induction threads and read the Stickies there to get you started.

This board is full of support and information so don't be a stranger. Good that you are starting now. You should be looking terrific by the time that trip to Florida rolls around.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

      Re: Introducing my self

Hi Carol -- mine is spelled with an "e" on the end. There is a small group of 50's ladies who talk and help each other - check us out! There is also a group called STAC (second time around club) they help each other with extra support also.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Make sure you drink at least 64 ounces of water daily (nothing added - just water) - exercise starting today and take a good supplement daily. Don't cheat yourself or the plan - it was written specifically to help us loose weight, there are no shortcuts to get to your goal, it will take time and work - good luck!! We follow the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) - get a copy to give yourself the edge to win your weight loss fight.

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.
