  • Hi there I'm back yet again

Hello everyone I have been away for sometime. Originally started in 2006, lost 102lbs in 8 months. It came off so fast before my head had a chance to catch up. I felt and looked pretty good . I slowly strayed and gained 79lbs Then lost 69 of that but have put back the 79 again in only 6 months! I noticed that the second time around losing it was WAYYYY harder and did not come off as fast. Do any of you have this trouble? Oh, I am so scared as this is such a long journey. I really need encouragement...... I love the smilies by the way, really say what I am thinking.....lol Thanks for reading this and wish me luck. I am starting July 1st!

Re: Hi there I'm back yet again

OKAY, it's bad analogy time. You talk of this as a long journey. If you are only focused on the far off horizon, you are going to stumble and fall. Right now keep your eyes on the ground right in front of you, step carefully, and just keep moving ahead. It's a one step at a time thing. If you misstep, get back on the path.

The road may be long but if you don't start, you will never get there.

Another member (Keriann) has a great tag line that sums it up. You don't have to lose 79 pounds. You have to lose one pound- 79 times. So work at it one pound/one day at a time.

        GOAL ONE 228

        GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
        GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
        FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

            Welcome to !

Did you climb the Carbohydrate Ladder in OWL and did you move to Pre-Maintenance and Maintenance when you did Atkins before?

                Welcome back, Leanne!

You need to realize that Atkins is a way of life for the rest of your life, not just a race to the finish line. This is a way of eating that will last forever. Most people think that once they've lost the weight, they have it made and can go back to what they ate before, (I've done that myself), but until you make this WOE a permanent part of your lifestyle, you will just keep yo-yoing. Instead of waiting for the day that I can eat all the 'goodies' I've given up, I have developed a genuine dislike for them so that I'm not tempted by them. There have been several times that I've tasted something I shouldn't have but couldn't swallow it because I knew it wasn't what I really wanted to do, so I spit it out. And I've maintained what I've lost so far for over a year now. It's not really that hard to do.

                Good luck to you!

This is a huge part of the reason that I chose Atkins. I have to stop the yo-yo dieting, and a simple, healthy, long-term plan will be the only way.

I'm honestly not even hungry and don't want to go through the ups and downs of excessive carbohydrate consumption.

I agree with everything you are saying. I did so well for over a year. I hadnt made it to my goal. I felt so great and proud of myself. I didnt even think of those foods as I used to. I guess my mindset was that I had to look for Christmas the first year and expected to keep going after that but as a food addict I now know that I was fooling myself. I thought I could handle a treat or two but I cannot. I was not ready to try the foods that caused me to get here in the first place. I am really only focusing on getting back to feeling healthy again. I felt alive and now I just feel tired. I started today instead of waiting. What the heck was I waiting for?....lol
