  • familiar stomping ground!

Hey low carb team mates! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Kathy I am a 33 year old single mom of 3. Current weight 215 lbs. ( I think) or a little less, but not much (lol). I am on my 6th day of induction phrase. Please please please cheer me on with this. December 9th 07 I had my son. Before I became pregnant I was very active. Up every morning at 5am to walk for 1 hour and then workout for an hour ( kickboxing rocks!) But as soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped cold turkey. I went from 145lbs to 220lbs. After my son I lost some weight and went from a size 20 down to a 15 -16, but regained that when I purchase my car. So now I am a size 20. I need to lose this weight because my son is 18mo old but wears a size 3. He's not fat he's gorgeous but long and solid. It hurts to pick him up. I need round the clock support even for someone just to say keep going... Thankyou

Welcome! Keep at it and you are going to do a GREAT job at kicking butt.

6 days of induction is an accomplishment in itself. Nice work!

I find checking in with this board regularly very motivating.

            Re: familiar stomping ground!

I find that pledging to an exercise challenge keeps me accountable as does posting in my journal and reading this board daily. The older we get, the more necessary exercise becomes. I know it is hard to find the time with a toddler, but exercise keeps you fitter, builds your confidence, and releases those endorphins (I am sure you already know this in your head, just have to get it back in your routine). You are halfway through Induction and that is the hardest part. Then on to Rung One and more choices. Welcome to our board and I wish you lots of success. I am yaking care of the July push up challenge. Even 5 or ten at a time add up, so come find the challenges and choose one place to start yourself off.

            GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
            GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
            FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Thankyou for your support and very useful information. I am tired of the foods I've been eating and needed some new ideas to jazz things up. I bought a atkins books of receipe and have been making new dishes so I've been able to make it so far.

                      Re: familiar stomping ground!

If you are bored with the foods you are eating, like you said, here are the recipe site links again...guess you missed them before. There are plenty of wonderful tasting things to eat here.

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Once you are committed 100% to the plan you won't be "misbehaving" and will loose weight and keep it off. Good luck.

                        Re: familiar stomping ground!

                        Thankyou for the compliments!

Glad to hear you are back on track, this is my 2nd time and im 7 weeks in at the moment. The first time around i made it almost to goal, i had 3lbs left but like you i got bored eating the same things, so ended up eating more and more carbs and piling all the weight back on! so this time around im making extra effort to try new things. Im now on the nut rung and will be experimenting with almond flour and all the lovely things you can make with it ( there are breads, cookies, cakes etc) so there really is no need for me to eat carbs.

Anyway, i hope to see more of you around the board over the coming weeks
                        Good Luck!
