    I don't know of anyone who has lost 40 pounds during induction who has the amount of weight to loose that you do. Depending on how closely you follow the plan the way it was written is how you'll loose weight. If you cheat or don't measure your foods properly that could keep you from loosing.     The 2002 DANDR edition says to drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily - I see where people drink everything BUT pure water and loose, but after awhile they post they can't loose weight and refuse to admit it's their drink mixes, smoothies, gormet coffees and sodas are part of the problem. I didn't like water when I first started but I drink 150 ounces a day and actually crave it over other drinks.

    Stop obsessing about your weight - that won't help, it's actually counter productive. Slow down and follow the plan as it's written - you'll loose weight.

      Yep, you should be concentrating on doing the plan well and sticking with it. Stay off the scale for two full weeks because it will go up and down. If you have not yet read the book. DO so. It helps.
