  • New-Day 1 of Induction.. Optimistic!

So after a couple years of struggling with my weight, and trying all kinds of diets from Nutrisystem to The Cabbage Soup Diet, I finally think I have found something I can stick with - Atkins!

I have never been a big sweets person, I find myself craving anything salty.. so the idea of being able to eat meat and cheese and all kinds of veggies really makes me feel a little more optimistic about this one. I am 23, 5'5" and 166 lbs.. I used to be in the 120-130 range back when I started college... let me tell you.. all that college drinking and unhealthy eating really does catch up to you!

I am engaged to be married on Mayy 22, 2010 which does give me plenty of time to reach my goal.. but it is never to early to start when it comes to your health!

I will post a picture of my current weight and my weight a couple years back.. I hate being so short because you REALLY can't carry the extra pounds.. So here it is..

My best friends wedding, around 165:

Orange Bathinig suit.. at about 145-150

and my healthy happy weight, about 130

I am hoping that with the support of everyone here combined with my family, I will be able to reach my goal, instead of giving up like I always do.. Thanks for listening (reading).

Welcome to ADBB. You are wise to giver yourself lots of time to do this. Then you won't be as panicked and frustrated if you plateau for a few weeks. Love your photos. You are going to be a beautiful bride!

follow the plan the way it was written -- get the book and read it if you haven't already. Use fitday or some other program to tract your daily food intake. Drink plenty of water (64 ounces pure water daily - nothing added).

Once you get done with your 14 day induction move on to OWL (Ongoing Weight Loss) so you can climb through the rungs easily before you get to your goal.

        Good luck to you.
