  • fat and determined

Inside I am an energetic, crazy, fun, great person. Outside I'm an obese hot mess! I just want my outside to match my outside. I've struggled with weight issues my entire life (or so I thought, now looking back to 18 I wasn't so fat after all). Now 3 kids later and now working from home the pounds are just piling on. I've never been one to be down about my weight, but lets face it the reaction from other people starts to wear you down over time. Even friends and family can sometimes say small things and not even realize the pain it causes. I don't feel as big as I am. I see pictures of myself and can't believe it's me. There is some kind of disconnect between the person I am inside and see myself as, and the person that other people see. I want them to be one and the same. So here I go, 11 pounds down 67 to go.

      Re: fat and determined

Hi mm, welcome to ADBB. If you go by the book (2002 DANDR) you will do just fine. Be sure to come and post often and do drink your water and exercise. Any questions so far or is it all going OK?

        Welcome to the board!

I know what you mean about being different on the inside from the outside because I was the same way! When I saw a picture of myself holding my newborn granddaughter, I was horrified! And that's when I restarted Atkins for good. That was 14 months ago and I'm here to stay!

Although I'm still 9 lbs. from reaching my goal, I'm at a place where I feel comfortable and am having no trouble maintaining this weight. You can do it too, just hang in there and you will get to where you want to be. We are here to help so keep us posted on your progress!

Try putting some of that energy into our exercise challenges because they make you feel so good and keep you motivated to keep going. Good luck.

          Re: fat and determined

I know exactly what you mean. I have a ton of "confidence" and I think that I am super sexy. At least we are not one of the people who do lose the weight and still feel unattractive. I am not sure what I would do if I felt that way.

WE just need to get the bodies to match how we feel inside. We are getting there. Hey, 11 pounds, gone forever. Right?

How do you feel today? OH, also, I agree with Chinadoll. You have, have, have to read the book, if you haven't already.

          rung 4 - berries, melon
          rung 5 - wine -
          rung 6 - beans, hummus
          rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
          Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range

            Re: fat and determined

I thank everyone for the support, this site is great. I'm glad I found it. I have read, and am still referring to the book. The book is the main reason I decided to go through with this diet, it seemed so well researched. Not to mention the success rate. Well off for the holiday festivities and explaining to my grandmother that I am not eating her pasta salad!

            Happy Independence Day Everyone!

Welcome to ABDD and congrats on making a great decision of taking your health into your own hands. Hope grandma is ok with you not eating the pasta salad....I'm having potato salad today for the first time in 6 months -- I replaced boiled cauliflower in place of the potatoes and you CAN NOT tell the difference!!!
