  • Finished my first week of induction!

    Hi all~

I've just finished my first week of induction. I've lost 6 lbs, have NO cravings, am in ketosis and feel like I got ran over by a truck. It's great!!

I decided to get an appointment at the Headache Care Center and it was the best thing I've ever done. The doctor said Atkins could help knock out my migraines and he was right. I've had very few headaches. I've cut out ALL additives and preservatives. I quit Diet Dr. Pepper cold turkey and couldn't care less if I never taste it again. All that stuff is poison! I've been a chocoholic and I can't even imagine cheating for any reason at this point.

I'll be 30 in September and I want to be able to keep up with my 4 1/2 year old daughter---and I have to be in my older (skinny) sister's wedding and I want to look good for a change.

I've been reading everything I can get my hands on, and I am *so* doing this!

It is good to feel run over by a truck? I am not following

I am hoping you mean you are feeling great. It sounds like you are doing great.

Interesting that Atkins was suggested to help with head aches. So glad it is working
Welcome to the boards. A fellow chocoholic. That is great.

Congratulations on finding this wonderful way of eating -- you will find the longer you follow this eating plan the better you will feel. Keep up the great work!!

Not really...I'm keeping track of everything in a notebook, so writing down a smaller number each day is a great reward!

Re: Finished my first week of induction!

              It is wonderful for sure.
Just a small not for the future.... it is not going to be a straight journey - there will some bumps when weight is not moving or even is going up a tad even if you are doing everything right. So when that happens don't get discouraged.

Re: Finished my first week of induction!

Sounds like you are doing really well! I'm glad to hear about the migraine thing - I didn;t get them often, but now I'm looking forward to getting them even less often

Consider only weighing once a week - its unrealistic to expect weight loss daily

You're right; I'm sure the joy of weighing will wear off soon enough.

Definitely! I find it gets easier & easier, especially as you climb the rungs and have more food choices, more carbs (less restrictive), more experience and more success to keep you motivated and focused
