  • Hello everybody

Hello. I have been trying to lose weight my entire life it seems. I am ready to start atkins tomorrow. I have read the book and know what I need to do.
I was really happy to see this site because I have been looking for some support and this is the prefect place to get support while doing atkins. My current weight, gulp, is 207.4. I am 5'3", female, so I figure my goal weight should be about 130. I am more concerned about getting fit than really losing the weight, but it kinda hard to run when you weight this much and I figured that atkins would be a quick jump start to my getting-back-in-shape-and-losing-weight goal. I had tried atkins before, (after having my little girl), and lost some weight with it and noticed that I actually at more veggies than I did when I was just trying to eat "healthy".
I also remember that it curbed my cravings, which is my down fall in eating, even though food doesn't seem to taste that good after you eat the first couple of bites(its the wolf factor) My first little goal is 185 by my husband birthday Sept 30. That's a little less than 2 lbs a week. I am not going to set myself up for failure by thinking that the amaizing is going to happen, it would be nice if it happened over night, but it doesn't.

      Re: Hello everybody

Hi and welcome back -- Here is a little information I hope will refresh your memory and help get you going again. Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), take supplements and exercise. Check the STAC for additional support Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.
