Hey there!
I just love this site and had to be a part of it. My name is Leah and I have been familiar with Atkins since high school 6 years ago. I tried to do it then, but totally lacked the will power (though I thought I was doing great on the diet at the time...haha) I cheated all the time by eating a bunch of nuts and those delish Atkins bars and SF candy, etc... DURING induction...that was the wrong approach, the wrong mind set, etc. etc.
SO! Now I am here again. I am in a great mind set to finally shake these extra pounds/I just want to be healthy because I am coming off a bad break up and am focusing on myself 100% now...I'm on day 12 of Induction and following the rules to the T..(or at least as close as I can possibly manage...i.e. I love coffee, I love diet soda (with splenda when I can find it), I have had some turkey bacon that contained sugar very far down in the label...cheats along those lines.) I am having a lot of success this time around and my will power is paying off! I am down 8 to 10lbs (I weighed myself twice on day 1 and I weighed 191.5 and also 194...the body is so crazy...I love how we can weigh totally different numbers in a day.) I plan on sticking with Induction, or the extended version, rather, for the rest of the summer, though I must say, giving up my corona for the summer is HARD (especially when all your friends are having a blast on the beach! haha...oh well! I will be happier in the long run, right!?)
I feel great, I am exercising as much as I can manage (I am doing two jobs right now [waitressing and running a fried food/pizza shack by the beach...p.s. it isn't hard to resist fried food when you make it...haha] and I am taking 2 summer classes...so I try to do some intervals at the track, ride my bike-stationary or street bike, do some push ups, lift my lil hand weights...what ever I can get in...) All that is missing is a little bit more of a support system to keep me on track and going toward my goal of 155lbs which at 5' 7.5'' looks great on my body.
I can't wait to make some posts because I have a lot of questions that maybe some of you can help me answer!
Looking forward to what this site can do for me!
