  • Hello To All.

    My name is Mick and i have been very successful using the Atkins plan in the past. I am unhappy with my current weight and it is far past time to do something about it. I was recently diagnosed and treated for cancer and as of my last check up have no signs of cancer but there is no guarantee, so I am trying to live my second chance life more responsibly. Atkins is a big step in that direction.

    I am starting the two week induction diet tomorrow. Trying to minimize the junk carbs today. On the lighter side, doing the shopping was fun; chicken, beef and eggs. It does take me back!

    I'm looking forward to participating here on a daily basis. It seems that a lot of people have found help and encouragement here.

    Yay for you, Mick, for making a wise choice for both weight control and help in keeping the big, ugly, C in remission. Welcome. I'm rooting for your success.

            Hi and welcome back -- Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

                So far so good! My new mission is to figure out exactly how much an appropriate serving size for spaghetti squash is...less than a cup for sure, and then grill enough chicken breast for a few days.

                I've been working on drinking enough water and visualizing where I want to be. Thanks to each of you for your support. As I said earlier, it means the world to me.

                  Hello and congrats for being in remission. I hope your first day today is going well.. You can do it, look how much you have overcome this will be a piece of cake

                      Thanks! In an odd way, my cancer has acted to focus me and prioritize what is important; God, Family, friends. I have been given a reprieve, for however long it lasts (and I am hopeful that it lasts a long time). Getting down to a healthy weight is a goal i would really like to achieve, kind of like training for a big boxing match. I'm trying to be ready, to tie up loose ends and rectify areas where I have fallen short. I'm very grateful to Dr. Atkins for this plan and, as I mentioned previously, for the encouragement I have gotten here.

                      I don't want to be 'Mick the cancer guy' but i did feel it was important to mention it by way of introduction. I'm here to focus on wellness. Anything I can do for anyone regarding 'c' (yep, small c) feel free to PM me.
