  • Trying to lose the weight for good this time

Hi everybody! I've been lurking for a couple of days now so I might as well introduce myself.

I'm 45 and in the last ten years I gained 80 lbs. In 2006-7 I lost 70 lbs and now I've gained 30 back again. I looovvve everything protein & fat and I can't stay on those low fat diets for the life of me so here I am, trying to do it the RIGHT WAY for the LAST TIME.

I'm on day 2 of a clean Induction and although I don't have access to a scale, my ketostix turned up bright purple for the first time tonight so I'm on my way. YAAAAYYYY

Unfortunately I've got some pretty severe challenges ahead of me. At 125 lbs I was working 36hrs a week, lifting weights, doing lots of cardio & loving life. Now at 165 lbs I am a long-haul truck driver, working upwards of 100hrs a week, living in a semi 6 days out of 7 (Atlanta tonight), not exercising at all and although I love my job, the rest of my life is suffering because I feel like crap all the time.

This week I made myself 6 full days worth of INDUCTION-LEGAL food and packed it in my fridge. So far the only thing I'm having trouble with is giving up the caffeinated coffee (I cheated once but only a half cup) and not eating my entire week supply of blue cheese dressing on my first day (it lasted until the second day LOL). But as you all say, I'm sure the cravings will go away in a few more days, so I'm looking forward to that.

Thanks everyone in advance, I can't tell you what inspiration I've already found in your posts and in your before & after pix. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE!

    Hey Trish,

It will definitely be harder with the lack of exercise but I am rooting for you. Good for you for doing so well with your first week being on the road and all.

hi and welcome Trish -- we have a few people who are vehicle bound who have had success eating on the road so I'm sure you can do it. Make sure you eat when you are hungry - the fats will keep you full inbetween meals.

Make sure you drink plenty of water, get out and walk and do a little callistenics when you stop. You'll have to be more creative about getting your exercise in but I'm sure you'll do it.

Check the recipe sites for loads of delicious food you can make ahead and take with you. If you need anything, just ask!
