  • 1st day of induction

    Hi all!!!

This is my first day on the Atkins way of life...it's going pretty well except I have a ginormous headache!!! Probably sugar withdrawl as I was a huge sugar addict...still am just trying to fight it!! I did everything I was supposed to today with no problems except I am severely craving a Diet Coke....(no its not the caffeine withdrawl that is causing the headache...I've been off all caffeine for over 20 years!) I have always been "chubby" but never fat until a year ago when I stopped smoking ....hooray for that but not the 80+ lbs weight gain. I went from 130 to as of this morning 211. And I am miserable!! The bigger I get the harder it is to exercise...the less I exercise the bigger I get!! Anywho...I guess I should say a little about myself...I am from a small town in Indiana...I am 47 years old and I have been single for a year now and am wanting to get back out there and date again...not gonna happen until I get some of this poundage off!! Well, I guess that is enough for now...looking forward to getting to know you all!!
    Keep on keepin' on!!

Hang in there Mary! A day or so and you know you will be feeling great. Think of it as the flu and just stick it out!

Hi Mary welcome to the club -- I stopped smoking 3 years ago on July 4th (my Independence Day) it takes a little getting use to eating this way but within a few days you're going to start feeling so much better and once you start shedding the pounds you'll wonder what took you so long to get started!

Everytime you want a Diet Coke grab a glass of water -- you'll feel much better drinking pure water instead of filling your body with chemicals like you've been doing all this time. Drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily. It will help flush the nasties and the fat out of your system.

Here are some links to recipe sites so you can make delicious meals. Good luck to you - if you need anything let us know.
