Hello friends. My name is Jamie and I'm a carb-o-holic.
I have been following this WOE since April 23 and have lost 28 lbs (which happens to be how much my youngest child weighs...so that's pretty cool) but stupidly slipped up this weekend. I had some carb loaded foods thinking I could control myself and have been fighting off the cravings ever since. I'm overwhelmed by the cravings infact. The mere smell of things is absolutely driving me insane!!!!!
I'm a single mom of 3 (11,7 & 2) and I haven't completely removed the carbs from their lives. A good bit of the sugars yes, but not the breads, pasta's and rice b/c they're inexpensive food that helps to fill them up. I did switch them to whole grains however so it definitely takes less to fill them up.
I've been doing this without the DANDR 2002 book. I've been reading the threads on here (thank you to the super heros on this site for guiding me without even knowing it) and that's how I've been getting by....like I've said I've done well until now. I guess I'm just looking for a hand to hold on to, to get me through this rough patch.....I've got a long way to go and I want to make it. I need to do it. High blood pressure and diabetes run in my family and knock on wood I have managed to sneak by so far without either. I'll be 38 in Sept and I feel as though I can hear the clock just ticking away so I need to nip this in the bud right here and now.
Thank you all for listening to me....wish me luck getting over this hump and back on track.
PS....If anyone has a spare copy of DANDR 2002, they don't need I sure could use it....just something to actually hold in my hand.

is a tremendous source of support. Return for support, often. We all know that it isn't always easy but it can be done. Together, we have lost millions of pounds!
