  • Back Again

Hi everyone. I lost my way from this WOE in February when my dad became ill and was in and out of the hospital. In April, he lost his long battle (10 years of cancer, triple bypass, infections, etc) and passed away...I have just been crushed. I spent the month of May and into June eating my way through the sorrow and loss. I gained back ~10 pounds (I was down ~43 pounds at that point)...worse yet, the inches piled back on.

I have been back at it since mid-June...I've been coming here very frequently to keep the inspiration. Yesterday, I had some sad news about my mom and dad's (now that both parents have passed away)house and having to let it go from the family. I blew it I went to a party and where I would normally allow myself one glass of wine ...had two beers. I snapped right out of ketosis and worse yet...my stomach actually bothered me from it.

I'm back at it today...I think I'm going to go back to Induction eating for the next couple of days to put myself back into Ketosis and then continue to OWL 1 and back up...slowly...through the rungs.

I leave for vacation on Friday...I'm really, really hoping I can get myself back into routine so that I don't blow it! As we all know it's so very, very easy to go back to old habbits on vacation

Anyway...I hadn't posted in many, many months...and, just wanted to let you all know you continue to inspire and motivate me!

    Wish me luck...

      Re: Back Again

welcome back hoping -- while you're on vacation take time to find your inner strength (I'm not talking willpower -- I mean strength) to get you through your daily life and that will help keep you focused and on track to loose your weight. It's easy to fall back into our old ways -- it's harder to keep on track but much more rewarding.

I remember loosing my father -- it's been almost 25 years now but I carried that pain with me until I found a way to turn the pain into something I could use and stop using it as my crutch for everything. You can do that too!! You aren't doing this for anyone but yourself -- make yourself proud.

Set small goals - 5 pounds lost, 2 days without cheating, whatever you need that will keep you on track. When you hit one of your goals do something nice for yourself - go for a ride, go to bed early and read, take a bubblebath, go to the mall and look at new smaller clothes you'll be wearing soon, etc.

Don't think of this as a quick fix with a very restrictive menu -- this is a life changing way of eating with plenty of wonderful meals worth of food if you work at it! Good luck to you.

Check the recipe sites also. Make sure you are using induction recipes until you move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss)
