    Re: Stalling from day one!

    Number 1, read DANDR.
Also, you weigh currently 150 lb. You want to drop to 126 lb. That's 24 lb so figure, if you lose 2 lb of fat which is difficult to do unless you are doing aerobics every day and strength training about 4 times per week, it will take you 3 months to get there.
sigpic Me, at 195 lb. September 24, 2009. It's 5:30 a.m. and can't wait to hit the coffee.

Well 9 stone is kind of giving me leeway! 9 1/2 (133lbs) is probably the lowest I've been as a grown up and I feel normal there, a size 8 (size 6 in the US). But the way I've read all the sucesses it's people saying they've lost a stone in a month etc. That would be lovely!
The problem I've had is I can't exercise as much as I did before the diet and i want to. But my muscles just give up after 10 minutes! It's so weird I used to do an hour on my cross trainer everyday (3 children mean the gym are not an option).

Everyone on this thread is offering you perfectly sound advice, but yet you keep coming up with excuses as to why you can't do this or that makes you sick. You should actually follow the advice being given to you and if all else fails, then maybe this isn't the right way of eating for you. Excuses don't take the weight off, action does. So at the end of the day its your body and we can type suggestions till our fingers fall off but its up to you to accept it.

I just find it so odd to eat so much I feel ill when I'm trying to lose weight! I get how carbs make you fat, just not the calorie bit. I guess it's just years of being told you have to eat as little as possible to lose weight.
I have wondered if I should try something else like The Thyroid Diet.

Just to add I am grateful for the advice! Just hard putting it into practice.

No one here wants to see you fail and we also would hate to see you give up. Maybe if someone offered to write up a menu for you, lets say, for a week and you follow it for that week to see if you experience any weight loss. Its worth a try.

Society has bought into the low calorie low fat diet for over 30 years. Where has it gotten us~~~an obesity crisis. Read the book & it will make sense.

As far as exercising continue to do the 10 minutes. Try to do that several times a day. Your muscles will tone up & before you know it you'll be able to exercise for longer periods of time.

              You can achieve your goals!

I've got super stubborn fat! Isn't there somekind of diet where you can have a treat now and then and not feel so deprived? 2 months without pudding is just horrible..all for just a measily 5lbs!
Think I'm going to have try this fat fast. If that don't work I give up!

Your fat isn't any more stubborn or super than anyone elses....fat is fat. As for the fat fast until you start eating properly according to the Atkins plan and have given your body a real chance to let go of the weight you shouldn't even be thinking of it.

Go back to the library and get the book again, read it again - follow the book and the advise you have been given here. Good luck.

Well we measure in ml here, probably about 1200ml which is a big bottle and a half. Can't manage anymore, in fact it's probably why I can't eat enough, just so full up all the time. I really just can't face anymore food at the moment! I've totally gone off eating. Except for when my husband has a pudding and I really want some.

I'm not exercising as much as I used too, get too tired. But I go on the cross trainer everday, I don't drive so walk miles every day and have 3 children to run around after. I seem to lose weight when I sleep put it back on by bedtime! Perhaps if I sleep for a week that'll work!
