HELLO!
My name is Marianne (aka: Mareacuda)
I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to everyone here on the boards. I am 24 years old, 6' tall, and weigh 255 lbs. On January 6th, I weighed 315 lbs. I have been steady losing weight over the past 6 months, and wanted to get with a new program that I could make work for me! I did the Atkins Diet back YEARS ago (i was probably 15 or younger) when my mom had success with it. I don't think I was quite ready to commit to anything at that age...
I currently work out 5-6 days per week and am on week 4 of Couch to 5K!
I do about 1-1.5 hours of cardio per day, and weights 3-4 days per week. I NEVER thought I would have success with working out, because I felt SO out of shape... but little by little, I'm making it happen!
I started today (for no other reason that I decided to go to the grocery store today!) and feel great
I don't expect too many issues transitioning to this way of eating... I don't really eat a lot of carbs as is, and I haven't had caffeine or soda in 3 years!
I'm all stocked up on plenty of good induction foods, and cannot wait to start experimenting with some new recipes
I look forward to getting to know everyone and getting ideas and encouragement!
Mareacuda
ps: for those wondering, yes my screen name is a direct reference to the Heart song "Barracuda". HAHA.
