  • Hi i'm new!, does any one know if I can eat tofo on induction?

    Hi there,

This is my 2nd time on Atkins. did it once before a few years ago and lost alot over the summer but found it hard to continue back at uni.

Trying again but not a massive meat fan. I eat chicken and tofo but couldn't find anywhere weather or not tofo was aloud on the induction phase?

Have been going for 5 days now and no weight loss or difference in measurements, can't remember if this is normal?, Know everyone is different but seem to be reading on here that people have more success then that in first week?

Could you post your menu, including quantities of everything you eat and drink, any supplements/medications you are taking, and what exercise you are doing?

What do you weigh & how much do you want to lose?

This is not going to be easy if you do not eat animal protein - fish, eggs, chicken would be good.
Tofu is allowed but in limited quantities- perhaps 3-4 oz per day (like cheese)

Are you getting enough fat? Chicken is just protein. This is a high fat diet. Are you eating enough?

Some people do not lose much in the beginning. So this may be right for you - if you are following the general guidelines.

Welcome. Nice to have you here.

Thanks for the info, I eat fish and eggs so that's okay.

Julie my daily diets tends to be eggs and tomatoes for breakfast, tofo & veg for lunch, then either tofo again or some chicken with veg for dinner. I haven't been weighing my food but chicken wise I have 1 breast or tofo I could eat up to 200g.

My only fats are the ones in the meat, olive oil its cooked in or the mayo i dip it in!

Are you getting enough fat? Atkins is a high fat, moderate protein & low carb plan.

Oh okay, so maybe if I add in the cheese throughout the day, would that be enough fat do you think?

The ratio to aim for is 65% of calories from fat, 30 from protein and 5 from carbs.
