  • Hello

Hi Everyone, This is my first post! I have been reading a lot over the last few days.

This is my second time using Atkin's. The first time was 6 years ago and I lost 70 pounds. Of which over the course of 2 pregnancies I gained back 49 of those pounds.

A little about me. My name is Addie and I am 34 years old. Married for almost 9 years. And I am mommy to 2 great kiddos. 5 and 2. I weight 229 pound and am 5'6. I started in Jan. working out three times a week and counting calories. I was 249 at that time. So I lost 15 pounds. Which is awesome but it was very hard for me. I was ALWAYS hungry. Even after eating I felt like I could eat more. My husband kept reminding me how well I did on Atkin's and how easy it came for me. So I have decided to give it another whirl. My best girl friend is doing it along with me. I am on day 8 and so far I am down 6 pounds. Which I am very happy about.

I am still getting the carb withdrawal head aches here and there but for the most part I am golden. And feel pretty good. The best part is I was having a hard time sleeping the last 6 months or so and in the last 3 days I have noticed come 9 I am beat and ready to pass out!

Now it's just staying on the right path!

Anywho, I just felt like lurker reading all your post and stories and not introdcing myself! So howdee!

    Re: Hello

Hi and welcome back Addie -- Here is a little information to refresh your memory and help get you going again. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of the induction page - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/ – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have if you can’t find your copy of the book.

The shakes and bars are NOT legal on induction because of their - eat a variety of foods off the acceptable food list, (making sure you get your fats, carbs and protein in daily), drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), take supplements and exercise.

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable. Make sure you are using induction recipes until you move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss)
