  • Help I think I've messed up?!

:help Hello there I am new to this board and just have a few questions for anyone out there. I started 8 days ago on the induction and just realized from your board discussions that you cannot eat sharp cheddar cheeses? Do I need to start all over now or just start from today on? The other one is are you allowed the no carb salad dressings and ketchup in the induction phase?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Welcome to the board!!!! First off, where did you read you can't eat sharp cheddar cheese. I have never heard of this before. From what I understand you can not eat processed food slices or processed cheeses like Velvetta and Nacho Cheese sauce, but cheese like cheddar, monteray jack, swiss, like you get from the deli.

As for the salad dressing you can get regular ranch or blue cheese with one carb, but I believe you are talking about low carb products like Carb Options. A lot of people choose to stay away from products like that while in Induction since you are breaking addictions to sugar filled foods.

Please do not start over! Just keep on, and if you make a mistake, just pick yourself up and get right back to the program!

OH I know about getting the wrong advice! When I first started I had a woman who was doing Atkins telling me I needed to refeed every weekend. I was so new ot Atkins and didn't understand the what she was talking about and came here to ask, and thank God I did! I got set straight fast! LOL No refeeds for me!

I love how so many people I meet say "Oh I do Atkins" but in reality they are doing their own low carb version. I have a dear friend who says she is doing Atkins but eats tator tots? LOL

I am so glad no one here told you not to eat cheddar cheese!

BTW, I am one of those type of people that really have to regulate my cheese or I will stall. For some reason even though cheese I love cheese it doesn't love me and will cause me to stall so I limit myself to about 2 ounces a day.

We are more than happy to help you on your journey and support you along the way. We recommend getting Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002. We go by it for all our recommendations and answers to questions.

          Welcome again!

            Welcome to the board.

As far as misinformatioon out there, there is a ton of it. And the worst culprits are the ones who have an opinion about Atkins and never read the book. All I can say is read the book, and follow the good doctors plan. It works.

            Good luck,
            Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Welcome to the board and to Atkins. Besides reading the book this is the best place for information & motivation.

Good luck & can't wait to hear about your success on Atkins.
