  • Hi! I'm Stacey and i'm starting Induction!*

    Hi everyone,

My name is Stacey, I am 23, and I'm from England -UK. I'm new to Atkins, have read up on it, and am now on my Induction

I am currently 162lbs, and am looking to lose another two stones (28lbs). I have already lost 14 pounds over the last month through exercise and hard work... so now I'm on Atkins, I'm hoping i can shed this extra 28lbs with the extra advice and support from those who are in the know.......

To round up - I'm already feeling so much more optimistic, and can't wait to see some more results!! If anyone has any words of wisdom to share with me on Induction (what foods to avoid that otherwise I might think i could have / extra tips for quick meals, or simply a few moivating words and some encouragement, i certainly wouldn't complain)

I hope you are all doing well on and i hope to speak to some of you in the future*

I wish you all the best

    Smiles and best wishes *-Stacey-*
    Stay strong-x-

Re: Hi! I'm Stacey and i'm starting Induction!*

    Hi and welcome to ADBB.

We follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR). At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condenced version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/5781-before-you-begin-atkins-nutritional-approach.html.

You don't have much weight to loose so don't stay on induction too long -- move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss) so you'll have time to add back the foods and will know which ones you have problems with and which you can eat with no problems. Eat the proper foods, exercise, drink a minimum of 64oz of pure water and you'll be on your way and loosing in no time.

The foods we eat are simple -- if a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Look at the ingredients list of everything at the grocery store and check the ingredients against the acceptable food list -- just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. We count "net carbs" not whole carbs (carb minus fiber = net carbs).

The recipe sites are filled with great meal suggestions– just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
