  • ahhhh.....sigh I have found something that works

Hello all! My name is Lauren I am 22 years old. I started Atkins about 2 months ago. I weighed 250lbs when I started, and I weighed myself 2 weeks ago, and I weighed 228! WOOP! My weight loss goal is 150 lbs...I am really excited about this diet, but I am afraid that I will not be able to stick with it.

You have been on for two months? That is super weight loss. Congratulations!! Your signature says that you are on 14 day induction. That can't be right. Are you extended induction or have you moved on to OWL? If you are starting to worry that you might not stick with it, is it because you are bored with the way you are eating? You might consider moving on to OWL.

What are you worried about? Talk to us. Maybe someone can help. You are doing so great. I hate to see you lose your momentum.
      149.8/no weigh/ 119

      1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
      rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
      rung 4 - berries, melon
      rung 5 - wine -
      rung 6 - beans, hummus
      rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
      Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
      (on to pre-maintenance)

        Great job on your success!

Don't be afraid of moving up to OWL, it really gives you more options. Also, while a routine of eating the same foods can keep someone from slipping, introducing a new vegetable or recipe can help turn Atkins from a diet into a lifestyle.

Keep up the good work and please post anytime you need support.

Hi Lauren, take each day at a time. If you do stray it sometimes snowballs so get yourself back on track ASAP if you find you weaken at some point. You are doing so well on this WOE and I know you can succeed. Have you been on Induction this entire time? Maybe thats part of the reason you feel like you are having trouble sticking. If so I suggest moving to OWL. It will open up other menu possibilities and contrary to popular belief, it does not slow down your losses--especially in the earlier rungs.
