  • My introduction. My name is Stacey

Good Morning! My name is Stacey and I'm 27 years old. I've been living the low carb lifestyle on and off since 2005. I'm in the last mile of a long journey and I feel as though I'm taking the scenic route. I've been on a weight loss stall for the past 6 months. I have a total of 31 more pounds I'd like to lose and I'm glad I found this site to help me get there.

When I was married in 2003 my weight was 288 pounds.
My highest pregnancy weight was 307 pounds in 2004.

I'd love to make new friends and receive helpful hints and in return help others.

    Thanks for having me!

Re: My introduction. My name is Stacey

    Hi Stacey,
I have been on and off the low carb thing for a while myself. I was almost 300lbs @ the age of 19, and managed to get down to a size 8/10 by my 21st Birthday. It was awesome!!!! I am now 28, 5'5 and 215. I have been trying to motivate forever...My boyfriend doesn't say anything about my weight, but I know it bothers him. I finally realized it bothers ME more and today I am back on induction, and feel great already! I look @ all the other times this year I have tried to stick with it, and want to kick myself, I could have had the weight off by now!!! This website has already been helpful. So let's stick with it, we can help eachother along the way!!!!

      Hi and welcome Stacy -

We follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) it would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/5781-before-you-begin-atkins-nutritional-approach.html. To help you along it would be wise to have your own copy of the book to refer to when you need to.

If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Make a copy of the list and take it with you when you go to the store. Make sure you don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”). We count "net carbs" (carb minus fiber = net carbs) – you can keep track of your daily food on FitDay or another program.

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

So glad you joined us Stacey. 2005 that is about 4 years. Good for you. Stalls can be such a drag. Yes they happen but it is hard to keep going sometimes. You've done so well on your journey down low-carb lane. Congratulations.
