Hi all!!
My name is ashley, I'm 24, and live in Dallas. I have always over-indulged on carbs and somehow been able to remain physically in shape, but that all stopped when my love of southern fried foods met my love of Coors Light beer!! Over the last two years I've watched myself develop the....gasp... beer gut. I have always been a little bottom heavy, which was okay, but when I started getting the gut I knew something had to change! I have always got in the habit of yo-yo dieting and working out really hard in the gym to the point where I'm just about to meet my goals when my typical low fat diet leads me to eating a whole box of oreos. I decided to give atkins a try because I know that your body prefers to run on carbs and if I reduce the amounts I'm intaking that I can start working off this last 15lbs of stored fat. I have made it through my first week of induction losing 4lbs (despite horrible induction flu) but when I last stepped on the scale I had gained one lb back.. From reading everyone's post I think I'm going to start measuring myself and taking pictures rather than obessively weighing myself everyday. So everyone is confident that I can eat steak, cheese, and veggies everyday ( if kept under 1500 calories and 20 net carbs) and still lose weight? It's soooo hard to make myself believe that I will lose weight eating cheese and ribeyes!! lol. Any advice?
Happy to be part of such a motivated group!!
