Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I knew that I had to join a forum or I would never make it doing atkins because I do not have much of a support system. I try to motivate myself and often, I fail. I am a mother of 3 beautiful girls and I am trying so hard to lose these many, many unwanted pounds. I am also trying to change the whole way that I eat. I am 170 pounds and I am 5 feet 4 inches. I am very miserable and very unhappy with myself. I am so tired that of every time someone have a function, if I attent, I am always the fat girl or the girl with the pretty face or pretty hair. I am ready to change my life and I need help.

It is eating whole foods so nothing to be scared about.

It would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book Liz told you about above to refer to. It is the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) edition. Come to the board when you feel weak, need a friend, want to vent or anything else. Start a journal to get your feelings out in the open, we have all kinds of challenges to participate in, plus you'll meet friends along the way who will become the support system you are lacking now.
Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).
The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Unique ~ Hello & Welcome To Atkins & The ADBB Forum!!!
Please always remenber that we will always be here to cheer you on & support you every step of the way. I know for myself that Iam on the boards everyday receiving & giving info over the last 8 months. The wonderful folks I surround my self daily have given me the strength to loose 50 pounds & 8 clothing sizes to date!!!
