    Hey everyone!
    my name is Leeann im 23 years old ... i have been married for 4 years to a wonderful man.. i join this board in hopes of meeting new people an taking control of my weight. a friend who is also on this board had told me about it. so i thought i would join an give it a shot. i have Pcos an due to that i have a lot of issues losing weight . im not going threw some probs with my sugar. me an my husband are dreamin of startin a family an i know that dream cant come true until i lose the weight. so im new to this whole atkins diet any help would be great!

    Hi and welcome to ADBB.

    As your friend probably told you, we follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) it would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book -

    There is a group here who are all PCOS PCOS & Atkins Low Carb Living - Atkins Diet - you may get some information there to help you. Also check the challenge area for the different challenges going on. Eat the foods on the list below, drink a minimum of 64oz PURE WATER (nothing added), exercise and take a good multi-vitamin and you'll be on your way!!

If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

    The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

        Welcome. I think you will find this way of eating puts you in more control and makes you feel better. We are all here to help you along the way.

          Leeann ~ Hello & Welcome To Atkins & The ADBB Forum !!!

          I spent a full year "2008" trying "Everything Under TheSun" to loose weight (But The Atkins Program )
          & I only lost 18 pounds by yrs end !!!


          The only other thing I had to show for it was my Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Levels were through the roof !!!

          The wonderful folks I surround myself here on "ADBB" daily have given me the strength to loose 50 pounds & 8
          clothing sizes in the last 8 months since 1/1/09 !!!

          I can Thankfully say that since 5/15/09 Iam now off my High Blood Pressure & Type II Diabetes Meds !!!

          We have have alot going on around here 24/7 it may be sharing our stories or giving & reciving information & we have a lot of fun in the process !!!
