  • Newbie here

Hi, I have just started the Atkins WOE today. I have gone up and down in weight but have not gotten under 200 lbs since 1990. This is my second time doing this. the last time was in 1995. I have about 80 lbs to lose.
I have also found that reducing the carbs helps my arthritis and fibromyalgia (FM) so decided to try the whole diet.

My starting weight is 230 lbs, goal weight is 150 lbs. I look forward to reading the posts and participating as well.

    thanks,

    Dee

          Re: Newbie here

          HI and welcome Dee --
Join a few challenges, eat only foods on the acceptable foods list, read the book (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - DANDR), exercise daily and take a good multi-vitamin daily --- that is the "easy" way to remember the plan.....

Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
