Hello all, I am new here. I am sitting at work having a slow day, noone needs a massage I guess. I am feeling terrible about myself and my appearance. I was searching some of the before and after pics and remembering how great I felt when I did induction and got down to 118 lbs. Im very short, 4'10. and at a whopping 141 lbs that makes me just cringe. I am feeling so terrible about myself and my appearance, Im freshly divorced in Jan 09 and starting classes at our local community collage. Its time for a complete over haul on this woman. From my weight, to my selfesteem, right down into my DNA for a complete transformation of the woman I am, and know Is hiding under all of this FAT and FEAR. I already had coffee today w/ splenda and creamer, most would say ive ruined the day and should start tomorrow. I have had nothing else to eat or drink besides the coffee. Since its 2pm and im just deciding to start this diet, I figure why wait till tomorrow. No time like the present!

    Hi and welcome to ADBB.

As you probably know, we follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) it would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html

Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Make sure you are eating something every 4-6 hours to keep your hunger from getting the best of you. Eat only foods on the acceptable food list, make sure you drink a minimum of 64oz PURE water (nothing added) daily, change to decaf coffee and stay away from other caffeine products (caffeine is known to cause cravings), take a multi-vitamin daily and exercise starting today.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!

That is right about the present. Carpe diem.
Sounds like you are there. Take it and run with it.
And don't be so hard on yourself. You need to like the person you really are - no physical changes are going to do that for you.

My only advice is to do this for yourself. Become educated on Atkins and know what you can eat and what you can't. Understand the rules of induction. Follow a simple menu that you can make so that you have snacks and keep your carbs in a healthy range through Induction. Drink your water. Follow the plan as it is written, no excuses, no slips, no cheats and you will lose weight.

So glad you decided to join us here. Best wishes to you.
