  • Hello BUDDIES!!

    Hi All,

Name is Shellynn (Shelly Lynn), I plan in starting this WOE and exercising on Monday. I have been on this on and off a few times and it has been a really, really, really, long time since i was on it last. I have been peeking in an out of the forum and have decided I should just jump on the wagon! I have the book, which I plan on re-reading and I purchased an Atkins journal at Hastings which I plan to use .

I am looking for someone who would love to buddy up . I have about 50-70 pounds to lose and will need a lot of motivation. I am at the point of looking at the Lap Band or looking for medical help. I am hoping joining Atkins again will help with my motivation so I don't have to take the other routes.

In Jan I started a gym membership and was going 4-5 day a week for 45-60 minutes. I finally realized i was not going to get anywhere and decided to pick it up a notch. In Feb, I started 5miles/5days a week, and can u believe it I lost not one pound or inch. SO SAD! I hit a low and went back to my 30-60 minutes in March. In the middle of March I hit an extra low and finally said I am seeing nothing. I guess everyone who has had a low knows what I am talking about and knows where it went from there.

Well here I am starting new and fresh, hoping to get my act together, lose weight, learn my nutrition facts, and watch my calories (i know its not required). In doing this I hope to turn around and teach my younger daughter (who has my body type).

    Hope to see everyone around!

What's up buddy! hhah Well you have about the same amount of weight to lose that I do and seem to have been hitting the same type of hurdles i.e. JUST NOT GETTING ANYWHERE!

This is why I've hunkered down on Atkins the last couple of weeks. I believe I have to be overly restictive to be able to jump start things.

I wish the best to you and hope to hear more about how it's going with you.

        Hi and welcome to ADBB.

We follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) I hope this is the edition you have. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book -
        http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html

Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
