  • This is going to suck.

    After great success last summer with Atkins, I have decided to begin again. Today is the day I begin the diet and I am not looking forward to this first week. Goodbye my carbs, I wish you well.
    P.S. has anyone tried using hoodia with any kind of success

    Welcome back to Atkins!
    You're right in that the first few days (maybe not the whole week) are the hardest. Just grit your teeth and get through them and you'll find you're over the hump. Once you start losing, you'll begin to feel better about yourself and that'll be a terrific incentive to carry on.

    Sorry... never had hoodia (what is it? A sweetner?).

      Welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins. Hoodia is an appetite supresant (sp). I've never used it. In fact I have a full bottle of it in my cupboard unopened. I never needed it. Atkins is such a great appetite supresant all in it's own.

        Hi and welcome -- you are on induction to rid yourself of your food and beverage addictions - don't add another crutch (Hoodia) that won't be of much help to you. As Sherri said, Atkins is an appetite suppressant in itself.

        Follow the plan the way it is written in the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution), drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added) daily, exercise starting today, take a multivitamin and only eat foods on the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html....you'll be well on your way to loosing without Hoodia before you know it.

        The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

                I've used hoodia. Didn't do a thing for me. I never have experienced the appitite surpressant others talk about. So jealous.
