Hello all,
I have been following posts on this website for the past 7 days (I am on day 7 of induction) and have learned an immense amount from all of you! I finally decided to register for the site so I can contribute to the conversations and ask some questions for myself...and I have many!
I am 21 years old, and I decided to begin trying to lose weight in January. I am a member at Sparkpeople.com where I track my meals, nutrients, etc. In the 7 months between January and July I was on a 1500 calorie per day diet, and I only lost 10 pounds. In seven months!! Fed up with those results, I begun thinking about Atkins as an option.
I have PCOS which is known to cause weight gain and insulin resistance, so the Atkins seems like a great option for me. So far on induction I have lost 6 pounds, but I plan to make some changes to my induction foods starting tomorrow. For the first week I have been drinking diet soda and crystal lite, which to my horror I have discovered has been known to stall many people (thanks to posts on this site). So, I am testing out how much weight I lose this week while drinking aspartame and starting tomorrow I will do the second week without any artificial sweeteners to see the difference it may make. Sadly, I am hoping there will be an insignificant difference so that I can continue indulging in the crystal lite lemonade.
Anyways, I am excited to be here and glad to finally be a member. Glad to meet you all!

. I had to do the same thing. It's amazing how much water helps. So, try and increase the amount of water that you're drinking, it will really help to flush the body and increase the weight loss. But you've done great so far... 6 pounds in a few days is awesome!
