  • No weighing, just measuring...

That's my new mantra from now on. My name is Taylor, I'm restarting Atkins for about the 5th or 6th time. I've been going since 8th June 09 and managed to lose about 15 kgs (33 lbs) and this week had a spectacular dive off the wagon and fell flat on my face in an alcoholic haze and a sore carb bloated tummy.

Naturally I feel so guilty, but I'll pick myself up and try again. I like this forum because it's specifically for us Atkins people. My goal is to get down to a NZ size 10 - 12 and weigh in at approx 130 lbs. I have until 01/01/11 to reach my target as I've planned a European tour with my brother and I want to be fit and look spectacular.

    So here goes...thanks for reading.

      Hi and welcome Taylor --

It sounds like you are doing a great job so far - the worst is behind you! Good luck fighting off your demons -- you can beat them! A little info to keep you on the right path:

At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html - take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Check the stickies at the top of the induction forum to refresh your memory on the plan. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/5781-before-you-begin-atkins-nutritional-approach.html. Also look at the challenge section to see if there is anything you might be interested in.

The recipe sites are a helpful meal planning tool – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

          Hi Taylor

Welcome back to Atkins and welcome to the .

I am also coming back and it feels great to make that commitment to just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and jump right back on track. Because sometimes
we fall off track but what matters is that we get back on track as soon as possible. So, yay us!

          Let's do it this time!!!!

          Hugs,
