Not new to the concept, but new to actually going through with a clean induction. For real this time.
From past attempts, I've learned two things that I'm hoping will help:
1) Don't try to do any grand-scale cookery. I cook for kicks, so this will be an adjustment, but after a few days, I tend to get less stringent about the acceptable foods list, and "re-interpret" the rules. I don't think a splash of wine or a little roux is going to be physically detrimental, but psychologically, it's a slippery slope.
2) Events involving cake, cookies, beer, etc. are always going to be there, and I'll just have to deal with that. If I keep pushing a start date past all foreseeable carb-driven events, I'll never get started.
I think the potential sticking point will be not so much the food, as the exercising. I'll be trying to find useful ways to work up a sweat (yardwork, etc)-- I have an easier time doing those than exercising for its own sake.
Also, this is my new favorite emoticon.
He's great! Best if you make a splatty noise every time the tomato hits him.
