  • On Day 8 new to this forum

Hi, I am on Day 8 of induction, and am new to this forum. I could any tips since I am not losing as much weight as I had hoped so far. I am cutting out my Italian salad dressing and cutting down on tomatoes since I may be getting too many carbs/sugar. I am very pleased that I have made it this far being consistant without ever giving up completely! So hooray for me on that front.

Yes it is good to have some staying power - especially when times are hard.
I think we may be able to help but you have to give more info
How much to you weigh, how tall are you
And what is your menu like (in some detail)
Then we may able to suggest improvements

My general advice without knowing anything specific is follow the rules in the book! They work.

I agree with Liv - more information will get you more help here.

Are you only eating foods on the acceptable food list? How much water are you drinking (pure water - nothing added)? What exercise have you started? Are you taking a multi-vitamin? On any medications that might slow weight loss?

Re: On Day 8 new to this forum

Just stick with it!!! I was disappointed in my weight loss for the first week (1lb) but the TWO days following the first week, I have lost a pound a day. It's not easy, especially when you're finding what works for your body and what doesn't, but it's totally worth it when those pounds start falling off!!

Age, yoyoing, water intake, exercise level, hormones, etc all affect the amount of weight you'll lose and it change with each round of dieting. Stay off the scale and focus on doing the program correctly the inches and pounds will follow.

Re: On Day 8 new to this forum

Thanks for all of the replies. I probably need to drink more water, good point. I do exercise regularly, starting taking Zumba classes 3 days a week, which is very high impact interval training. I walk hills ( since my neighborhood is in the mountains, and there is nothing but hills) in between, however this last week, I have not been as consistent with that.

Note, just since I posted this, I have lost a couple of pounds, so I think this is actually working !!!. I notice that when I cut back on "salads" for lunch and kept my vegetables to once a day, that seems to have increased ketosis, as least as measured on my strips.

There are no degrees of keotsis - you are either in or not....the color means nothing except the darker the color you may be dehydrated. Make sure you're drinking enough water -- also make sure you are getting the recommended amount of salad greens - 2 cups -(these aren't just lettuce) and 1 cup from the "other vegetables" list daily.
