  • Fat punch!

Alright so I'm here for a fresh start.. I wrote a blog about it, but I thought I'd come and introduce myself. I'm 29, the father of a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 week old. I'm an artist and craftsman by trade. I'm focused on getting to my goal weight of 200lbs. by Febuary 2010 and since I'm 263 now, I'm going to need some support for my continuing motivation.

Thanks guys, I'll write blogs as often as possible.

    Re: Fat punch!

You can do it! I started on February 28th 2009. I've been going strong and it's not been easy but it is so worth it. I started at 255 and am not at 209 pounds. My first goal of 200 pounds isn't far off and I'm very anxious to get there. Then, I'll reset some new mini goals of 10 pounds each. Toughest part is knowing that it doesn't happen over night. It took years of ignoring my weight to get where I am. So, I'm figuring it will take a couple years to get it all off.

        Re: Fat punch!

        Welcome Driven --

We are all here to help and support each other. Good luck to you on the remainder of your journey - you can do this -- it's easy to eat delicious tasting food = and that's what Atkins is all about.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin without iron (you should get enough iron with the foods you are eating on Atkins).

Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – something for everyone.

Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Absolutely, been losing weight steady.. I didn't know that the process of simplifying life could get so chaotic hahaha.. Ah well, it'll all be worth it soon. No cell phone, no cable, etc. I can catch up on reading and do more physical activity, it'll be rad.
