  • Hello all

    Hello everyone,

I've been on the Atkins diet now for one month and a day. So far everything has worked out pretty well. I actually found it pretty easy to go on the diet as the only real thing I had to give up was bread and pasta (which I admit, was tough) but everything else I already ate on a regular basis. To be honest it surprised me how much of a difference it made to give them up. I've gone from weighing 270 to 255 in just a month. What I like even more is that I am never really hungry.

My current weight goal is to get down to around 200 pounds. My current goal in life is hopefully going to come true soon. That is to join the Army. I've actually only got to lose 6 more inches off my waist to meet Army standards and then I will be talking with a recruiter. I can already do the fitness aspect of it so now I just need to get the weight down to join. My goal is to talk with a recruiter (regardless if I have lost the 6 inches or not) about joining on my birthday, Oct 31st of this year.

Anyhow, if you have any questions for me feel free to ask. I am not shy. Hope you all have a great day/night.

            Re: Hello all

Thanks for all of your kindness.

Sadly the other day I had a little cheat. Was at a friends house and they invited me to their cousins party. He was getting sent to Iraq so they threw him a going away party. I ate a hamburger and had one beer. The good news is I can tell the difference in my eating habits already. Even when I cheated it wasn't like it would have been a month ago. I would have had like 3 burgers and god knows how many beers plus soda.

So while I hate I cheated, I was proud of myself in that regard.

Thanks again for all the warm welcomes.

              Re: Hello all

I think the best thing is just being honest. You ate off plan, it happens...sounds like you regret it, but you also know how you used to eat, and what would have happened before. I think that is progress! Congrats.

                Re: Hello all

The hamburger wasn't a cheat -- unless it had processed cheese on top....the beer -- that's another thing.

At least you know you didn't go overboard so that's good. Keep up the good work and stay away from temptation!!
