    G'day

Aging tech head and photo grapher with a lot of adipose tissue to get rid of...lost a kilo in 3 days on Atkins. I live in the land of Oz so may have a different view about some things.

    Re: G'day

Welcome to the Atkins Board Chroma.

I hope you’ve read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR), it’s the book we follow on this bulletin board. If you haven’t until you can get a copy you’ll fina a condensed version at the top of the induction -
    (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – there is something for everyone

Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!

We talk in Kilos and kilojoules rather than pounds and calories...similar to British and European members on this board. Foods can be a little different here...so Atkins list/s of foods and their carbohydrate content may not show exactly the same values as a similar product in Oz. We also eat an awful lot of raw meat such as kangaroo, dingo, crocodile, koala and occasionally snake...not of which appear in any of the lists. The upside is that we get a lot of exercise chasing dinner which, naturally, would prefer not to be eaten...except for crocodile, which, of course, might eat you first.

this list should help you - it was set up because we don't all use pounds and ounces.

Wow I think I am moving downunder. But better start working on my running speed. Don't think I am going to catch any running, slithering or jumping food at my speed.

I am into kilos too. It is just a more sensible thing that his pound stuff that I never understood. Not to speak about inches

Hope you have/had a great day Chroma

Thanx for the info. I've already seen the weight in grams list but am a little disappointed that someone would go to all that work and not include a carb value for each item. If I get time, I might work out the carbs and post it to the forum.

if you use www.fitday.com you should be able to find the carb values of each food you eat.
