  • Well here we go starting tommrow

    Hello everyone, Long time reader first time poster. I am 32 and am a little overweight, I have long thought that the this lifestyle would really work for me. I am on Vacation for the next 4 weeks have no excuse not to do this. Tommrow will be my first day on induction and I will success. Ill be reporting back here each and everynight to report that ive come in under 20 grams.

    Thanks for making an excellent site.

    Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

    Eat the foods ont he acceptable food list and find delicious recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

      136 - No longer overweight (yes, I know this is lower than my goal weight)

        Thanks the pure water might be a problem, I will try. Is crystal lite acceptable on this diet?

          Crystal Light is made with aspartame (Equal) which isn't accceptable on the plan -- it's also full of chemicals...not good for you. Aspartame has been shown to slow or stop weight loss in many people who follow Atkins - of course there are those who continue to drink it and say it doesn't hinder them -- but how do they know? Best results will come from following the plan the way it was written.

          Here is a list of what's in Crystal Light:

          Crystal Light ingredients:
          Ingredients: CITRIC ACID, MALTODEXTRIN, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, ASPARTAME, MODIFIED CORNSTARCH, RED 40, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, POTASSIUM CITRATE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, SALT, ARTIFICIAL COLOR, BLUE 1, BHA (TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR).

          I didn't "like" pure water before I started Atkins but can't imagine a day without it now....get your 64 ounces in then you can add an occassional tea or very occassional crystal light.

          You can float a lemon, lime or cucumber slice on top of your water for flavoring. (Lemon & Lime are limited daily)

            Work on that water
            Remember the more you drink (water) the more you shrink.
            Did you have a chance to read the book yet? It is a very good source for how to follow the diet and good motivation as well.
