  • I've got a new attitude

HI all!! For the last couple years i have been all talk and no action, well no actions if you don't count the GAINING of weight that i have done. I went on vacation back in December and came back rejuvenated and ready to go with things like getting my life in order such as financially and weight loss etc. Since then i GAINED 30 lbs!!! So much for the ready to go concept back then. For the last 9 months i have been pretty much whining that i wanna do it, and i do it for like an hour then make some excuse.

Well, enough is enough. This weekend i am beginning and sticking!!! I have a plan to make menus for the week and cooking everything this weekend so i have grab and goes all week. And i am making my plan for how i will accomplish the next two weeks. That is what i am concentrating on for now.

So any tips you have to prep this weekend and easy menu items and such is appreciated. When i lost weight a long time ago, i did so by actively participating in discussion forums like this because it kept me focused and THINKING on what i am doing. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I should say, i am very familiar with Atkins and the book. I am rereading the book and refamiliarizing myself. I have done the plan successfully in the past. and my vice is staying focused.

Welcome to the Atkins Board Angel.

You sound like you have a good plan -- hopefully you are re-reading the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book -- that's the one we follow here.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

Eat the foods ont he acceptable food list and find delicious recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Re: I've got a new attitude

Welcome to ADBB. Glad to have you here. And happy to hear about your new attitude.
Do you use the 2002 book? It is the one we stick with here.
Carole posted the links to the recipe sites all of us use a lot to get going. Glad you are into planning that helps.
I do a lot of eggs on induction. This time around I also made a liver pate - which worked will for me as a snack.
      Good luck.

Re: I've got a new attitude

HI Liv, Well, one of the things that kept me motivated last time was when i read the book, i did so as if i was studying for a test lol. I highlighted, took notes both outside and within the margins and such, so i am doing this with the induction chapters. I have also browsed through the induction phase stuff here AND the before and afters. I am making a list of the meals including snacks (which i always have problems with because i am a focused person at work and forget to do them).

Once i have that created -- then i will go shopping and start cooking and packing and freezing.

Re: I've got a new attitude

Wow you're quite a planner and prepper. I often do not know what I am going to eat till I do it. That is not often the best way of doing it though. I hope you find some good stuff for your induction. I like to freeze pre made burgers
