I will be going to the grocery store tonight to stock up on anti-carbs. Tomorrow morning I plan to get up early and go for a run/jog. I've been wanting to get back to a daily run for a while(years), but always found a reason not to(namely sleep, or lingering scotch in my system). No more excuses.
I know the Atkins Diet works, because I went on it almost a decade ago, when I was in high school. If memory serves, I weighed in at around 290. Over the course of a couple months I managed to loose around 30lbs. I came off the diet when my family attended an out of state wedding for my cousin. I never went back on it. I don't know why. Looking back, it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
My poor choice of lifestyle has kept me in the range of 285 to 300 for the last several years, weight gain barely being kept at bay by labor intensive electrical construction in the oppressive southern heat. I was somewhat recently laid off due to a lack of available work. Without being forced to burn thousands of calories every day carrying materials, climbing ladders, and walking stairs, all the carbs I've been consuming have found their way to a nice neat home in my gut. My belly button has become a void, the depths of which often collect enough cotton to clothe a small african villiage. This is the perfect time to get this remodel underway. With an ideal diet to manipulate body chemistry, a vastly increased exercise regiment(downloaded the army's pocket physical training guide), and hopefully the support of some new friends(hint, hint), I should have no problem getting my life on track. With a little luck and a lot of work, I'll be moving to Hawaii within two years.
I'm eager to share my progress through words and pictures, and to also follow yours. Feel free to reply or PM me. I know it may seem that I talk more than necessary, but I'm just really excited right now!
By the way, my name is Gene.

and the other is an "AIR TECH GLIDER"
. Between an hour or so a day on them, and a brisk walk around the nighborhood(2 miles maybe?) before sunrise every morning, I should be able to get in more than enough exercise. I'm still going to use the Army's conditioning drills and cool down drills.
