Second attempt now with PCOS

Hey everyone,

Well I’m back for my second proper attempt at Atkins. It worked once, I fell off the wagon and now I’m back!

I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries and all my research says that Low Carb diets are great for helping with this condition. I have about 5 stone to lose, but I am also trying to get pregnant at the moment. We are seeing a fertility specialist this month.

Any one else in similar positions who want a buddy, please let me know.

Because your lifestyle and health situation are different, you may not loose the same as you did before, so don’t compare what happened “the last time”. Follow the plan the way it is written – hopefully you have a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR). Start exercising right away, drink plenty of pure water (64 ounces minimum daily – nothing added) and you’ll be on your way to loosing before you know it – don’t forget to get all your vegetables in daily!.

Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html - take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

Welcome Ems. I think you'll find everyone here to be very supportive. I've only been here for about 3 days and so far it feels like coming home to the family I never knew.
