Hello Again

Hi everyone I have been MIA for a long time.I fell off the wagon got ran over and drug along.My daughter got married on Aug 14th.So I had to find a dress in the color she wanted.Wouldn't you know nothing to be found in COW size.She said Mom I will help find your dress .I was so ashamed for her to see what size I wore.She brought me dress after dress in a size larger each time.Finally got a dress then the wedding day arrived.Oh Lord picture's I tried to hide but couldn't.I alway's said I would not be fat when she married but I failed.I saw the awful picture's.I went back to my Atkin's diet on Sept 1st.I have been on strict induction.I have lost 13 lbs.I'm thinking about doing meat and egg this week.I 'm hoping to be in onederland by Thanksgiving.Start weight is 236 now 223.Standing strong and moving along.

Welcome to the Atkins Board.

I hope you’ve read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR), it’s the book we follow on this bulletin board because "I'm thinking about doing meat and egg this week:" isn' following the plan. You should be eating those items plus 2 cups of salad vegetables and 1 cup of vegetables off the "other" vegetable list daily. If you haven’t until you can get a copy you’ll find a condensed version at the top of the induction - (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – there is something for everyone

Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

The plan works the way it was written -- there is no reason to change it or do some form of the plan other than the way it's written. Very Low Carb isn't the way to go.
