Im 38 and I have to lose this weight because I'm having some ongoing issues with my back. I need to lose about 30 lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever weighed but I still dont feel very motivated. My wife and I are doing this together so hopefully that will help. If you are on Twitter, follow me. @spirit20

Re: Ok so....
Congratulations on taking the first steps. What would motivate you? Would it help if you could reward yourself with something (a gadget, a party, a weekend trip, some hobby gear or a vacation?) What can you motivate yourself with that you really, really want?Originally posted by dgoard View PostThis is the heaviest I have ever weighed but I still dont feel very motivated.
It's worth it to think about that because while there's a good range of food you can eat on Induction, this diet is strict - much stricter than a lot of people expect going in. But you just have to look at the stats and see some of the success stories from people here to know it works.
And, as a bonus, men tend to lose a whole lot faster than women!

Welcome to the Atkins Board.
I'm not a Tweeter either -- Bri is correct, find something that you really want and make it your goal to get. You'll have to find a way to motivate yourself -- look at the thread with beginning pictures, or read the success stories - that's what a lot of people do for motivation.
Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).
Eat the foods on the acceptable food list and find delicious recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
