Hi
I'm a 'second-time-around' Low Carber and get so much support on Jimmy Moore's Forum. I've gotten those first ugly 50 lbs off in the first year and am now concentrating on those last 20 to get back to where I was in college. I need the support of the LC community and it looks like this is a good one to add. It bears the name of the man who is synonymous with the Low Carb Lifestyle. Everybody knows what you're doing when you say "Atkins".
I've been recently reading in the popular magazines how "they", instead of making Low Carb out to be deadly, as they did for so long, now admit that it works faster, but does not have the staying power of the (healthier?) low calorie diets. And fat continues to be the enemy. Well, most fats, they say. (They now admit that there is a need for a little bit of fat.)
We Low Carbers (or those of us who are "Doing Atkins") need to continue to demonstrate that this is not deadly or a short-term thing, but that it is a valid way to improve health for life.

That last 20lbs may be slow to drop but I'm sure that if you can eat on plan, you'll shift them.
