Hi, I am new to this forum

Hi to all. I am a male 36 years old. My height is 5'10". My current weight is

275lbs. I need to lose 100lbs. Most recently I tried Larry North diet without

success. I hope that I will lose all my weight on Atkins.

Hello & Welcome To Atkins & The Forum !!!

I have lost a Wonderful 48.4 pounds & 10 clothes sizes since starting 1/1/09 & beileve me, if I can do this at almost 47y/o with a limited ability to exercise do to having Lupus & Nerve Dammage after a Motorcycle Accident 5yr's ago you can do this tooooo !!!

I can Thankfully say that since 5/15/09 My Dr has taken me off my High Blood Pressure & Type II Diabetes Meds. Iam now using Natural Whole Food's as my only needed control !!!

My my Dr now say's that Immune System is Stronger & Healthier than it was before the onset of Lupus in December of 2004 since starting The Atkins Program !!!

We have have alot going on around here 24/7 it may be sharing our stories or giving & reciving information & we have a lot of fun in the process !!!

Welcome Spring, so happy to have you here. You will have great success with this eating plan. (I hate the word diet) It's comfortable to be on. Within a few days you won't be hungry and that is encouraging in itself. Being a part of the board, reading the different thread entries, and taking part in discussions is fun too, you will learn so much, and we will learn from you.

Welcome to the Atkins Board.


If you follow the program the way it's written you should have great success! Hopefully you have or will purchase he 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) book so you know what the plan is all about and the science behind it.


Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin.

Eat the foods on the acceptable food list and find delicious recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
